Partner Financial is working with a leading logistics business looking for a Senior Technical Accounting Manager. The business has experienced significant growth over the years and has established a global presence in the market due to its customer focus and strong product offerings. The organization has a clear strategic plan to achieve market excellence and will execute these plans by investing in new capabilities and enhancing customer experience.
The successful candidate will have a solid technical foundation in finance and accounting, robust analytical skills, proven experience in technical accounting, reporting, and consolidation, as well as strong team management capabilities. This role involves providing oversight and leadership for a controls and reporting team that monitors and tracks compliance with all corporate governance and internal control requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the reporting process and presenting quarterly and annual statutory reports and accounts to senior management.
- Providing technical accounting advice to the business and supporting corporate initiatives such as acquisitions and disposals, with expertise in UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Overseeing the implementation and monitoring of effective internal controls within the business, ensuring their quality and efficiency.
- Developing best practices by continuously reviewing processes and procedures to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Developing a good knowledge of the company as well as close relationships across the business,
- Managing the team's workload and providing coaching to team members.
The ideal candidate:
- A Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
- Extensive working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- An inquisitive mind-set that continuously challenges and seeks process improvement
- Experience managing and developing a high performing team
- Able to deliver with exceptional levels of accuracy, placing a high regard on achieving excellence
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritise own deliverables under time pressure
