Job Purpose
- Managing your own portfolio of clients for quarterly VAT, ensuring that records are requested, received, processed, and filed on time to meet deadlines
- Reviewing quarterly VAT returns prepared by junior staff members
- Preparation of year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, including balance sheet reconciliations for items like bank accounts, PAYE, VAT, corporation tax, and directors' loan accounts, for manager review
- Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for limited company directors, sole traders, and clients with rental properties or other filing requirements
- Managing your workload efficiently by prioritising deadlines and coordinating with the department manager or director
- Assisting the manager or director with various tasks, particularly HMRC enquiries
- Proficient in accountancy software such as Xero and QuickBooks, with experience in IRIS being a plus but not mandatory
- Providing training and support to junior team members

Candidate Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified with experience in a similar client-facing role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to client success
