AE Faulks is a leading Plant Hire company with a modern fleet of construction plant, sweepers, and HGVs. From plant and road sweeper hire to haulage, contracting and selling machinery, we've got your construction needs covered!

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Plant and HGV Fitter to join our team and ensure the effective maintenance and servicing of our vehicles and plant.

About the Plant and HGV Fitter role:

As a Plant and HGV Fitter for AE Faulks, you will be based at our Hickling Workshops but also carry out mobile duties. We work with a variety of clients across the building/construction industries throughout the East & West Midlands regions.

We appreciate our highly skilled team who are dedicated to providing the high-quality service that our customers have come to expect from us. That's why a company van will be provided to enable you to travel between sites.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of the fleet, including scheduled checks, repairs, and replacements of parts.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues with the vehicles or plant, and provide solutions for repair.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts and tools required for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and perform risk assessments for maintenance activities.
  • Record and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including parts replaced, costs, and time taken.
  • Provide guidance and support to other members of the team on maintenance and repair issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with a desire to learn and grow within a highly reputable company.

Your experience in maintaining and repairing construction plant, sweepers and HGVs will help you to hit the ground running. However, you will be fully supported in the role and training will be provided to support your development.

You will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to various locations as required
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
