Our client is looking for an experience New Business/Sales Manager to join their current established team based in the Birmingham area.

Purpose of the role – Determine and implement a strategy to ensure profitability, maximised and sustained growth of new and existing customers

Predominantly office based, you will require to visit nationwide clients regularly throughout the week.

Duties will also include:

  • Direct and maximise sales through regular communications both verbal and written contact with customers and agents on technical and commercial levels.
  • Constantly seeking and developing new opportunities for new business and growth.
  • Maintain an awareness of technical and business developments within the industry and develop a strategic plan to achieve profitable sales growth
  • Plan and implement with guidance and development from support staff ensuring the safeguarding of current business and achieving the attainment of new opportunities.
  • Provide support to ensure a link is maintained between the customer and the Company.
  • Monitor competitor product and activity and take appropriate action to ensure the Company's position in the market place is maintained or increased.
  • Prepare and deliver commercial and technical presentations to customers, agents and other bodies and represent the Company at Trade Exhibitions.
  • Work with Senior Management team to determine and implement a pricing policy, using the Company's Value and Transactional Pricing Strategy, which optimizes profit margins whilst remaining competitive.
  • Prepare annual sales budget based on anticipated business levels and continually monitor progress, taking corrective action where appropriate.
  • Negotiate with customers in line with Company policies and ensure Sales departmental compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver commercial and technical presentations to customers, agents and other bodies including acting as Company representative at trade exhibitions
  • Report on daily, weekly and monthly sales as determined by the General Manager

The right candidate would have:

  • Relevant Sales/Business development experience
  • MUST come from a drainage, sewage or hand tool sector
  • Professional communication skills
  • Strategic pricing experience
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Experienced attending client visits across the Uk and potentially oversees
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Clean Uk Driving license
