This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in our legal department, providing critical legal support across all aspects of our business.

The ideal candidate for the In-House Legal Counsel position is a highly skilled solicitor with at least 5 years of experience in corporate law, contract law, employment law, and intellectual property law. They possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills. Proactive and ethical, they are adept at managing legal risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and handling litigation. They provide strategic legal advice to support the company's growth and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advice and Guidance: Provide comprehensive legal advice to management on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and potential liabilities.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including commercial agreements, supplier contracts, and partnership deals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations and corporate laws, developing and implementing internal policies.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential legal risks and recommend measures to mitigate them.
  • Litigation Management: Oversee legal disputes, liaise with external counsel, and manage litigation processes.
  • Intellectual Property: Protect and manage the company's property, handling related disputes.
  • Employment Law: Address employment-related legal issues and assist in developing employment policies.
  • Data Protection: Ensure compliance with data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA), and develop data protection policies.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor in the UK.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a corporate legal environment.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, employment law, and intellectual property law.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
