Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Runcorn-based SEND school that supports pupils with a variety of complex needs between the ages of 2 - 19 as they are looking to recruit a level 3 qualified and motivated teaching assistant to support in their year 2 sensory room. This is a long-term role starting from September.
Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be part of the sensory team, supporting students in year 2. You will be working with a range of SEN including sensory needs, ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders), non-verbal, and complex medical needs. You will take a pupil-centred approach to learning/development, ensuring that the pupils' individual needs and EHCP's are met. You will support your pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, offering sensory development sessions to all pupils. This is a relatively small class that will also include lesson delivery responsibilities on a small group basis.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as an NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, as well as:
- Extensive experience supporting SEN
- Experience with sensory development
- Experience working with children between the ages of 4 - 8
