Job Title: Assistant Cardiac Practitioner

Grade: Band 3

Trust: West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust

Location: Hemel Hempstead General Hospital/Watford General Hospital

Ward/Dept: Cardiology

Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Mon to Friday - 9-5pm

Pay Rates - Day: £13.07 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the friendly and supportive Cardiology team at West Herts as an Assistant Cardiac Practitioner.

You will l be expected to perform ECGs to SCST standards and have sound basic ECG interpretation skills. Experience running an outpatient clinic is essential. You will be primarily based at Hemel Hempstead Hospital with rotation at the St Albans and Watford sites as service demand dictates.

Responsibilities of this job role

  • You will help support the delivery of Cardiology services to the Trust, by providing a high standard of clinical and patient care supporting the ambulatory monitoring service within Cardiac Rhythm Management.
  • You may be required to participate in a flexible working hours system.
  • Actively participate in a range of clinical physiology service provision either in performing direct duties or supervised if required.
  • Preparation and hook up of ambulatory monitoring devices including ECG and BP.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Previous NHS experience

Basic 12-lead ECG interpretation

Educated to A-level/NVQ level 3

Experience running clinics independently

Perform 12-lead ECGs to SCST standards

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
