What you'll do:

As a Senior Finance Officer, you will play an integral role within the finance team. Your primary responsibilities will include managing both the purchase and sales ledgers, conducting bank reconciliations, and resolving any financial queries that may arise. You will also be tasked with producing monthly salary information for our payroll provider. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to assist with the annual audit process. This role requires someone who is not only skilled in accounting but also possesses strong interpersonal skills.

  • Perform day-to-day transactional duties including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Resolve day-to-day finance queries that may arise
  • Produce monthly salary and wages information for payroll provider
  • Process supplier invoices and statements, ensuring they are correctly authorised and make payment when due
  • Raise invoices to citizens, commissioners, and clients on a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Manage debtors to ensure payments are received on time
  • Oversee and manage accounts inbox queries
  • Assist with the annual audit process

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Finance Officer position will bring at least two years of experience in a similar role within a finance office. You should have proven experience with financial systems and processes, as well as strong spreadsheet skills. Proficiency in Excel and Word is essential. You should be able to manage your time effectively, prioritise your workload, and work unsupervised. Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail are crucial for this role. A good level of written and spoken English is required, along with an understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.

  • At least 2 year's experience of working in a finance office in a similar role
  • Experience of financial systems and processes
  • Good spreadsheet skills
  • Knowledge and experience of Excel and Word
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise workload and work unsupervised
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Understanding of confidentiality & GDPR
