Learning and Development Specialist

Posted by Think Specialist Recruitment.

Do you have previous experience in a Learning and Development function? Do you have the ambition to develop your experience and be fast-tracked into a crucial role in an international company's L&D department? We are recruiting for a Learning and Development Partner role for an ever-expanding company whose headquarters are based in the Heathrow area.

Initially the role will support the Head of L&D in coordinating and facilitating the learning and training programmes for all of their employees. From in person inductions, leadership training and teambuilding events to their global online training platform, this role will be pivotal in organising everything to ensure the courses run smoothly, as well as facilitating and getting actively involved with the delivery and/or supporting external training partners.

The role would suit somebody with a keen interest in L&D, perhaps moving up from an L&D Coordinator role or working in a HR position that incorporates training and development, or an L&D specialist ready to move on to an exciting new challenge where they can have a real impact. On top of the base salary, there is also excellent bonus potential, benefits and perks!

Hybrid working available but you must be able to commute to Heathrow 3 days per week.

Role overview:

  • You will play a pivotal role in the organising of training programmes to a large number of employees including all arrangements - invitations, meeting rooms, training materials, equipment, catering, external training providers etc
  • Once you have settled into the role you'll also be responsible for the creation, delivery, and evaluation of many of our L&D initiatives in partnership with the Learning, Leadership and Culture Manager.
  • You'll be at the heart of driving a high-performance culture to our global audience by partnering with the business to diagnose, design and deliver learning interventions that will make a difference to individuals, teams and the whole company.
  • A priority within the role will be facilitation and ongoing management of entry and mid management leadership programmes, partnering with the HR Business Partnering team and directorates to drive and track completion and success.
  • Manage a portfolio of learning and development initiatives and activities (including designing, delivering, and evaluating) aligned to our Learning, Development and Talent strategy.
  • Partner with People team colleagues and stakeholders in the business, building strong relationships to support learning and development needs
  • Lead team development, entry and mid-management leadership sessions
  • Create and curate content that is accessible, relevant, and engaging
  • To keep up to date with emerging L&D trends and find ways to implement and share best practice with colleagues and the organisation
  • Develop fit for purpose, engaging training materials that are relevant and support embedding of learning
  • Evaluation and continuous improvement: identify ways to improve L&D initiatives to establish value and ROI

Candidate requirements:

  • Previous L&D experience is essential
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the full learning cycle
  • Ability to effectively design and curate engaging content
  • Desire to develop both coaching and presentation skills
  • Confidence in face to face and virtual facilitation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment often working on multiple projects at the same time
  • Able to develop and manage relationships at all levels.
