Finance Operations Manager

Equifind are proud to be supporting a brilliant investment client to recruit a Finance Operations Manager to work from their London office, for the next 12 months.

Due to investment and a reshuffle in the finance team, there is now a need to add a Finance Operations Manager to support the CFO and run a specialised project for the business.

You will have full responsibility for this project and concentrate on streamlining processes and enhancing the controls and finance function.

Key deliverables for this position include:

  • Ensure effective working capital management, including being proactive with regulatory capital management
  • Integrating cash management with the FP&A function and facilitating actual v budget cash reporting
  • Lead treasury and cash management operation in the delivery of robust financial reporting, in respect of accurate actuals and forecasts
  • Work closely with a variety of banks/banking platforms to implement efficient processes for cash management and reporting, including driving forward improvement projects to consolidate banking and implementing a global treasury platform
  • Develop and implement an effective FX hedging and cash management policy
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data for accounts payable and accounts receivable, and the general ledger, while managing the preparation and timely delivery of reporting
  • Actively manage recoverable expense balances, ensuring efficient invoicing and cash collection from funds
  • Drive operational efficiencies of consolidating processes globally and achieving high levels of automation and control
  • Maintain good working relationships with suppliers and internal department heads
  • Maintain an efficient system of policies and procedures that adequately control payment and cash flow activities

The Business

An international market-leading investment firm headquartered in London with operations across multiple countries.

The business has a wide range of interests from technology to renewables to infrastructure and is diversifying all the time. Performance has been impressive over the years and the returns have been increasing year on year.

You will join a growing medium sized finance team and have full ownership of this specialised project, reporting directly into the CFO.

You'll need to really investigate the current procedures in place and drive the change for the future, as you will be responsible for improving both reporting processes and upskilling people.

The role is hybrid and you will be expected to be in the office three days per week and there may be travel required to other offices, every few weeks.

Background and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a minimum of 5-8 years post qualified experience.
  • Proficient with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar organisation i.e. Private Equity, Venture Capital, Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Investment Bank etc.
  • Have a strong background in treasury and cash management
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, systems, controls and projects
  • Track record developing and management relationships with banks, custodians, and vendors, etc.

Package on offer:

  • Base salary of £90k-£100k depending on your industry experience. We will look at day rate contractors as well, at the equivalent day rate, if your experience is perfect
  • Discretionary annual bonus and all the usual benefits/perks
  • To start ASAP but we will look at candidates on 2-4 weeks' notice if you tick every box
