Finance Manager Part-Time

Marks Sattin are partnering with a reputable manufacturing organisation in Corby to recruit a Finance Manager on a 3 day per week part-time basis. The Finance Manager will be office based, so applicants must be within a commutable distance from Corby.

This is a newly created position which will report to the Group Finance Director, and the Plant Controller allowing for great exposure to key decision making. The Finance Manager will oversee a small transactional finance team covering accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management. The Finance Manager will manage the day-to-day financial responsibilities and will act as business partner to the Plant Manager to drive financial performance and enable better decision making across the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager include:

  • Day to day management of the small Finance team
  • Production of monthly management accounts and forecasts
  • Preparing the statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors with various queries
  • Preparation of the annual budgets and the 5 year business plan
  • Providing commercial insight and analysis to drive financial performance and better decision making amongst the Senior Leadership Team.
  • KPI reporting and monitoring
  • Inventory / Stock Accounting: monthly stock takes; analysing slow moving stock to mitigate risks
  • Debtors & Creditors: Preparation of accurate cash forecasting based upon expected daily sales invoicing and supplier payments; Ensure the prompt collection of debt in line with contractual payment terms and all steps taken to avoid potential bad debt

To be considered you must:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
  • Have a good understanding of financial controls and processes
  • Have experience supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Have some experience managing and developing teams
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and approach
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate well with non-finance teams
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Be able to demonstrate experience working within the manufacturing sector
  • Be within a commutable distance to Corby as this will be an office based role
