Project Engineer

We are recruiting for a Project Engineer to join a leading supplier of packaging machinery based in Hereford. This is a dynamic organisation with a growing team due to success! Working full time, Monday to Thursday 7.45am-4.45pm and Friday 7.45am-1.45pm in this permanent role with a salary of £40,950 per annum plus annual bonus!!

As Project Engineer you will report in the Lead Project Engineer, and work in a team of 2 other PEs with responsibility for managing and implementing new machine projects on customer sites across the UK and Europe (mainly Spain and Italy).   • Collaboration: Work closely with third parties, sub-suppliers, and internal teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements for installations, supporting the company's ISO Quality System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise the company's Internal ERP system to progress new machine orders, including raising purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Review all enquiry documentation and agree on specifications.
  • Prepare layout proposals in conjunction with CAD (with draughtsperson).
  • Organise delivery and collection of machinery (both foreign and UK).
  • Manage project timescales and identify/invoice contract variations.
  • Plan, manage, and complete on-site installations.
  • Utilise Microsoft tools such as Teams, Project, Word, and Excel.
  • Provide detailed visit reporting and attend exhibitions when required.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in technical project management within the engineering/ manufacturing sector.
  • Knowledge of automated packaging machinery is desirable
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage project revenues, timescales and costs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prepare and review tender documentation and layout proposals.
  • Familiarity with the following is desirable: Autocad, Salesforce CRM, Simpro ERP system or equivalent
  • PRINCE qualified or equivalent is advantageous
  • Logistics import knowledge would be desirable
