Our client, a leading international retail business based in Portsmouth, is seeking a dedicated and customer focused Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.
Description
Credit Controller:
- Assessing customer credit and either approving or halting transactions (with necessary approval from Directors).
- Pursuing overdue payments to ensure timely settlement by customers, escalating if payments are delayed or missed.
- Handling payments via phone.
- Overseeing credit note requests and maintaining records alongside the General Manager.
- Conducting bank reconciliations and preparing and submitting statutory and statistical reports.
- Completing and submitting tasks for both internal and external audits.
- Monitoring the finance email inbox and addressing any inquiries.
- Performing various finance administrative duties such as invoicing, assisting with new account setups, and managing paperwork.
- Addressing ad hoc operational and finance-related requests.
Profile
Credit Controller:
- Proficient in Excel with a good working knowledge
- Background of over 1 year in credit control and familiarity with reporting standards
- Skilled in building strong relationships and possessing clear and confident communication abilities
- Team player with a proactive "can-do" attitude, as the role involves close collaboration with various teams, managers, and Directors
- Familiarity with utilising external credit agency information systems
