Maintenance Fitter
A leading manufacturer of high-quality timber products in the UK timber industry is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for their location in Ayrshire.
Job Description:
Working under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Fitter will collaborate closely with the existing maintenance team to uphold plant functionality, minimise downtime, and optimise throughput.
Responsibilities:
- Swift response to plant downtime to ensure maximum throughput
- Repair and replacement of damaged equipment
- Documentation of completed work using IT systems
- Identification and resolution of equipment issues through fault finding
- Active involvement in seasonal overhauls to maintain and repair plant equipment
- Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives
- Overhaul of plant and equipment as necessary
- Compliance with health and safety standards through completion of work permits
- Cultivation of effective relationships with colleagues at all levels to support business objectives
- Participation in special projects as required
Skills Profile:
- Full qualification as a Fitter/Mechanical Engineer for factory work
- Essential experience in heavy mechanical facilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Flexibility to cover varying shift patterns
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in relevant systems and software

- Rotational Days and Nights: 6am/pm - 6pm/am
