Reed Accountancy are delighted to be recruiting for a newly created Assistant Accountant role due to the rapid growth of our client's business. This position offers long-term growth and development opportunities for the successful candidate. You will be part of a small, family-feel finance team with a vision for long-term expansion and success.
Paying a salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum. This is a full-time, permanent and fully office-base role.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Update and reconcile financial ledgers.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
- Prepare financial documents and verify company expenses, bank deposits, and payments.
- Process payroll and maintain accounts payable and receivable.
- Handle Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payments and manage reverse VAT.
- Support the finance team with queries and prepare budget forecasts.
- Maintain financial records, prepare statutory year-end accounts, and corporation tax returns.
- Report discrepancies, mistakes, or potential fraud to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AAT qualified.
- Advanced knowledge of Sage 50.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Xero is advantageous.
- Strong accounting knowledge in a similar working environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to multitask and work towards strict deadlines.
- Motivated and hardworking individual with a strong sense of responsibility.
