Creative Engagement Assistant

You will undertake administration activities across all Creative Engagement strands, coordinate training programs, liaise with participants and parents, and support the arrangement of special events.

Job Purpose

To carry out the administration of all strands of Royal & Derngate's Creative Engagement programme and productions. The Creative Engagement Assistant should be passionate about delivering arts activity with artist development and the local community at its heart. This key role will be central to supporting a busy team, and you should be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be a confident communicator.

Key Duties

  • Undertake administration activities across all Creative Engagement strands.
  • Work with the Creative Engagement Team to ensure all data is recorded, including registers, equal opportunities monitoring, Arts Council and KPI data.
  • Support the Schools and Young People's Associate and Community Associate to deliver their activity to all groups engaging with the department.
  • Support the Creative Engagement Team with funding applications.
  • Play an active role in the ongoing development of Royal & Derngate's Creative Engagement strategy.
  • Coordinate and support training programmes for freelance practitioners and assistants.
  • Support the administration of all produced work within the department - Genfest, NT Connections, Community and Young People's productions, including but not limited to scheduling, licensing, chaperoning, and facilitating communication between internal departments.
  • Communicate weekly with participants, parents and guardians and ensure contact systems are up to date.

Essential Skills

Experience

  • Experience of working within an education and/or Creative Learning arts setting
  • Experience in project coordination and administration
  • Experience in working effectively with personnel at all levels and across different sectors
  • Experience in implementing/maintaining administrative systems/procedures

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of GDPR requirements
  • Understanding of and commitment to participatory arts
  • Good knowledge of office administration systems

  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Experience

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in a related subject (or equivalent)
  • Professional training working within arts and/or education settings
  • Familiarity with the Arts Council Seven Quality Principles
  • Familiarity of Arts Council England Let's Create Strategy
  • Artsmark and Arts Award requirements
  • Knowledge of the challenges facing arts education and the role of LCEPs in addressing this

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to use image, film and sound editing programmes
  • Evaluation and data reporting
  • Willingness to share skills
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle
