French Graduates Wanted

A warm and supportive secondary school in Barnet, North London, is looking for a French Graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant for a September start. The school are supportive and friendly, and support new graduates with training and other support. If you are a French graduate looking to work within education, this could be a great opportunity to work in a supportive secondary school. Experience isn't necessary, just a French BA and a desire to work with children/young people.

You will be predominantly working within the French department, supporting the teacher and class as a whole, and working with individual students. Learning support assistants are an integral part of our team, working on a 1-1 and small group basis with students who need additional support. You will also work to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support them within a mainstream learning environment.

We are looking for warm and empathetic individuals who are flexible and proactive. A desire to support young people is the most important thing for a Teaching Assistant, but if you do have some experience of working with secondary aged children (11-16) please highlight this on your CV.

Role: French Assistant

Location: Barnet

Start Date: 2nd of September

Position: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Work closely to support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans.
  • Support classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all students.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in French
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Being proactive and easily adaptable
  • Experience working with children in some capacity (formal or informal)
  • An enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service (or be willing to get one)
