Procurement Manager

Nottingham (hybrid - flexible - 2/3 days office)

We are recruiting for a newly created Procurement Manager position that will focus on the creation and development of procurement initiatives, policies and procedures for a fast-growing, multi-million-pound, global organisation.

As the Procurement Manager, you'll manage a range of categories with your remit, driving procurement and category strategies and centralisation while strengthening relationships with the relevant stakeholders and departments.

There are short to medium goals to achieve focussed on creating procurement systems and processes and developing stakeholder relationships from the SLT to global partners. You will work in partnership with the SLT to develop long term direction.

We are looking for someone with indirect Procurement experience who is looking for an ambitious project that they can lead, direct and develop, utilising their wide procurement skills and knowledge. Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage key suppliers, developing strong performance through effective partnering and working relationships.
  • Working across categories
  • Identify opportunities to deliver value through supplier contract management, competitive market analysis and commercial tendering projects
  • Identify and manage risks within the category
  • Lead the procurement approach within business project activities as needed - managing a range of projects at once.
  • Stakeholder management: collaborate with internal stakeholders across the group to ensure alignment
  • Ensure adherence to and promotion of governance and compliance activities
  • Support implementation and management of new systems and processes

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven indirect Procurement experience with knowledge of Category Management
  • Experience building a team and creating structures
  • 5 years + experience of working in procurement management
  • Experience of working in an M&A environment would be advantageous
  • Experience in stakeholder management and business partnering Proven negotiation and supplier management experience
  • Experience in initiating and delivering end-to-end procurement projects
  • Experience in a 'greenfield environment
  • Ideally CIPS qualified or equivalent
