As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the data networks. This role involves managing the data network and infrastructure, reprographics, audio, telecommunications systems, IT hardware, and applications. Additionally, you will supervise and evaluate the performance of the IT Service Desk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to support the development of the IT infrastructure and establish and enact plans for projects.
  • Ensure the ICT network is optimised for effective use by staff, maintaining its stability and security.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with institutional goals.
  • Manage and optimise the IT budget to maximise efficiency and impact.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Ensure robust data security and compliance with regulations like GDPR.
  • Encourage effective communication between MSP and school, managing customer accounts and staying up to date on services and solutions offered.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support and ensure work aligns with policies.
  • Manage day-to-day IT operations, ensuring requests are dealt with quickly and effectively.
  • Supply technical advice, training, and support to staff to ensure effective system use.
  • Observe and maintain all key systems, including virtual and physical server environments, switches, Microsoft 365, and backups.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about IT with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as an IT Manager/Network Manager/Senior ICT Consultant.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, showcasing problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving services.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal, and top-end customer service skills.
  • Strong background in managing IT services within an MSP environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations and security best practices.

Our client is keen to hear from candidates with an education/MSP background, with strong experience leading a team.

This is a full time, permanent position, based fully in their offices in Marlborough.
