A Director of Strategic Partnerships is sought to drive growth and facilitate beneficial partnerships within a not-for-profit organisation. Applicants must be experienced in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and have a proven track record in the sales department.

Client Details

This Multi Academy Trust is expanding, with aims to introduce Primary schools into the Trust and further develop their community offering through commercialising assets.

Description

This is an exciting and somewhat unique role new to education. You would be a pioneer and, working with the CEO and Trustees, be able to carve out a direction for this new and exciting role.

The role requires you to attend self-generated and pre-arranged meetings with a view to promoting the Trust and to tap into new customer sectors. The role requires you to identify and develop relationships with a variety of external partners that can help the Trust achieve their objectives.

The successful candidate would have experience in business growth and fostering partnerships, cold calling, market research, networking, sponsorship, working with stakeholders and ensuring impactful external engagement. You will need excellent communication and presentation skills, strong relationship building skills and a great sense of humour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the CEO and Exec Team to prepare a business growth and partnership strategy.
  • Develop and own a strategic territory plan for all of the organisation's services.
  • Prospecting, cold calling, qualifying/identifying new partners.
  • Maintain and manage relationships over time.
  • Develop the annual marketing plan and line manage marketing personnel.
  • To work with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure impactful external engagement e.g. parents, staff, students, governors, business partners, community, schools.
  • To prepare and deliver key presentations.
  • To conduct market research.
  • To source and attend networking with professional groups e.g. business and industry.
  • To leverage social media platforms.
  • To work with schools joining the Trust in the initial stages, managing the conversion process.
  • To secure funding through effective bid writing and sponsorship

Profile

The successful candidate will have a Business Development, Sales, Fundraising, or Partnerships background. You will have strong communications and negotiation skills, be confident presenting and networking/relationship building.

  • A strong educational background in business, sales or a related field.
  • You will be comfortable doing business development both phone based and face to face and have a background of selling solutions.
  • Proven experience in a senior sales role within the not-for-profit industry would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Job Offer

£55,000 pa + benefits (please note there is no performance related bonus or commission)

Hybrid working, 3 days per week office based in Merseyside with some regional travel.
