Position: Science Technician
Location: Westminster, London

Contract: For the full academic year
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Science Technician for a secondary school in Westminster, London, starting in September 2024. This role will run for the remainder of the academic year.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up lab equipment and materials for science practical lessons.
- Support teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Maintain and organize lab resources, including chemicals, specimens, and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
- Assist with inventory management of science supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations in the lab environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or as a recent science graduate.
- Strong knowledge of lab procedures and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with handling chemicals, specimens, and scientific equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Salary: £13.00 - £16.00 per hour, depending on experience.

- Hold a degree in Science and have laboratory experience, ideally in a school.
- Have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
- Ensure your CV covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
