We are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a Good rated Primary School in Slough. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised support to primary-aged students with ASD (Austistic Spectrum Disorder), helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to primary students with ASD, assisting them with their educational and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all primary students feel valued, respected, and supported.
  • Assist primary students with activities of daily living, communication skills, and social interactions, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Monitor primary student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, with a focus on supporting primary students with ASD.
  • Knowledge of best practices in special education and experience implementing strategies to support primary students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, primary students, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with primary students with ASD.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
