Reed Education is seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team, providing high-quality, therapeutic and child-centred education for pupils aged 11 to 17 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Day to Day of the Role

  • Build professional, nurturing and positive relationships with students, motivating and inspiring them to learn.
  • Plan exciting and engaging learning opportunities tailored to individual needs, challenging students and fostering a sense of awe and wonder.
  • Manage complex and challenging behaviours with attention, effective communication, consistency, flexibility, and a non-judgemental approach.
  • Collaborate with education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams, and students to secure outstanding outcomes.
  • Contribute to the decision-making process that drives the school and advocate for every child's needs.
  • Develop both the academic curriculum and the extra-curricular offer, incorporating personal interests and passions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH and SEND, such as Autism and ADHD.
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong commitment to child-centred and therapeutic teaching approaches.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A team player who is also capable of working independently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
