Credit Control Supervisor

Grafton Banks Finance are working with a growing commercial company with offices in Barnstaple, Devon to recruit an experienced Credit Control Supervisor on a full time permanent basis. Reporting into the Financial Controller and Supervising a small friendly team you will be responsible for the smooth running and operations of the companies Credit Control and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of 5 Credit Controllers
  • Ensuring the credit control team process and accurately apply customer payments,
  • credit notes, refunds, and other sales ledger transactions.
  • Ensuring credit control set up customer accounts and overseeing the setting of credit limits in a timely manner based on company risk management policies including credit risk reports.
  • Liaising with credit insurers to ensure compliance with requirements of insurer policies.
  • Periodic credit reviews and ad-hoc customer credit increase requests. First contact for making judgements on customers with poor or no credit history.
  • Liaising with the credit agencies, branches, customers, and credit control
  • team to ensure policy compliance.
  • Developing/improving risk management policies and procedures, executing process and policy changes within the business.
  • Support the CFO and Group FC in setting, monitoring, and reporting of team KPI's.
  • Take ownership of ensuring an accurate and well managed ledger.
  • Support the accounting in team in appropriate and reasonable bad debt provisioning.
  • Monitoring the chasing of customers for overdue payments via email, telephone, and post from debtor's reports.
  • Ensuring monthly statements are run after month end close as required.
  • Running disputed customer invoices reports and managing timely resolution of
  • disputes and other queries.
  • Instructing third party debt collection agencies on customers that have defaulted.
  • Agreeing and monitoring payment plans with customers.
  • Communicating ideas for driving change management with the aim of improving the company's internal processes.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working in Credit Control and ideally staff management. You will need to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Strong IT skills are essential to manipulate financial information including good Excel skills. This is a full-time permanent job offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
