HSSE Lead

Within Green Funding Solutions, our remit is to investigate and secure external funding for 'green' solutions for our most vulnerable customers and households. This ranges from insulation, solar panels and heat pump programmes, through to innovative low carbon heating propositions and health care solutions. We are helping thousands of customers each year be safer, warmer, and have more affordable bills.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HSSE Lead to join our team. For this role, you will be responsible for driving continual improvement and promoting excellence in the HSSE management of both contractor partners and E.ON staff. This role is homebased, with regular nationwide travel required.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor the businesses HSSE compliance obligations and provide assurance that the management system controls are effective.
  • Ensure that products placed onto the market by the businesses are free from risk to the end user (IRIS).
  • Manage the HSSE management systems in line with ISO14001, ISO45001 and other relevant standards.
  • Manage the incident reporting, investigation and risk management platforms (Prisma).
  • Maintain and improve relationships with internal stakeholders and provide HSSE advice to ensure that HSSE is considered for business changes and future plans.
  • Manage processes for the onboarding of contractor partners and ensure that the acceptance to work for E.ON remains valid.
  • Monitor the HSSE performance of contractor partners and coach and inspire them to drive continual improvement.
  • Undertake work-in-progress and post-install site inspections of contractors' work and process non-conformances.
  • Ensure that the requirements of CDM are complied with by the businesses and contractor partners.

**What we need from you

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure that the requirements of the CDM 2015 regulations are understood and complied with by the business and contractor partners.
  • Undertake regular site safety audits record non-conformances through the near miss, unsafe act, unsafe situation reporting process.
  • Monitor the businesses HSSE compliance obligations and provide assurance that the management system controls are effective.
  • Assist with the HSSE management systems in line with ISO14001, ISO45001 and other relevant standards.
  • Engage in incident reporting, investigation, and resolutions where required.
  • Maintain and continuously improve relationships with internal and external stakeholders providing HSSE advice to ensure that HSSE is considered for business changes and future plans.
  • Assist with the processes for the onboarding of contractor partners and ensure that the acceptance to work for E.ON remains valid.
  • Monitor the HSSE performance of contractor partners and coach and inspire them to drive continual improvement.
  • Promote the principles of prevention.
  • Assist in driving a proactive heath and safety culture throughout the business.

What we need from you

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate as a minimum.
  • Experience of health and safety management practices and processes.
  • Excellent understanding of the CDM 2015 regulations and the ability to interpret and communicate requirements to remain compliant.
  • Dilligent in conduction thorough site safety inspections on construction projects to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Working knowledge of all health and safety legislation and best practice relevant to construction activities.
  • A proven ability to advise on compliance matters at operational levels.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools such as Teams, Excel and Word.
  • Full UK driving licence - car allowance / company vehicle provided.
  • Member of a professional body (IOSH, IIRSM) preferred but not essential.
