Allen Lane are delighted to be working with Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in recruiting a permanent financial and corporate accountant position looking for an individual to start as soon as possible. This role's main responsibility will be to provide accountancy services to support the delivery of Financial and Corporate Accounting Services.
This exciting role will provide a varied and challenging environment, working with a fantastic leadership team. This role provides the ideal environment to develop your accounting skillset, and will provide exposure to multiple key elements of core finance functions of the authority.
This role will include preparation of the statement of accounts and maintaining core controls and reconciliations and submission of returns. You will also play a key role in treasury management, collection fund accounting, fixed asset accounting, company and charity accounting. You will provide taxation and policy advice and be key in managing the insurance contract. You will also get the opportunity to support the authority through the development of initiatives that will augment both the Finance Function and financial processes.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a fully qualified candidate (CCAB or equivalent) as well having good experience of financial accounting, completing reconciliations and analyses to support key financial controls as well as having strong experience in year-end accounting and treasury management. Local government or public sector experience is preferred given the specialist nature of the role.
