A highly-established business who have gone through a fast period of change are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Essex on a temporary basis.

This is a great opportunity to lead several projects, assist with year-end and work with a highly dynamic finance team.

They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary Financial Accountant to assist their finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks and will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of financial data and facilitate process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to management as needed.

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar professional certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
