Principal Procurement Compliance & Quality Assurance Officer

As a Principal Procurement Compliance & Quality Assurance Officer you will support with embedding a healthy culture within individuals and across our procurement solutions team that will seek to achieve excellence in quality, assure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and deliver outstanding procurement solutions for our customers to access. Working cross-functionally, you'll enjoy forging relationships, influencing action, and getting to the bottom of customer needs to deliver procurement at its finest.

This role predominantly home based, with travel to one of our offices based in either Salford, Leeds, or London once a month.

What you'll be doing:

  • Conduct formal peer reviews of tender documentation and project outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship on appropriate governance to Procurement Solutions colleagues.
  • Develop policies and tools to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Work collaboratively within the Procurement Compliance and Quality Assurance team.
  • Integrate seamlessly with category project teams.
  • Stay updated on current topics, trends, and case law in public procurement. Procurement Project Support.

What you'll bring:

  • UK Public sector procurement knowledge and compliantly working with the UK Public Contracts Regulations 2015, including relevant policy and guidance.
  • Experience of undertaking quality assurance / compliance reviews on procurement documentation to identify areas for improvement and suggesting how such improvements may be achieved.
  • Experience, understanding and interpretation of the legal aspects of procurement and supply.
  • Ability to challenge in a positive but robust manner to drive an improvement in quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • CIPS level 4 qualification.
  • Project and Programme Management in a dynamic environment.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience of delivering high value / strategic projects through all stages of the procurement lifecycle.
  • Experience of implementing procurement / sourcing strategies at a regional or national level.
  • Experience of digital procurement tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of category management principles.
