Are you an experienced Sales Manager with demonstrable experience of sales activity in the UK Government and Defence sectors? If so, then please read on for some exciting details about a new role that has just become available. This role requires a proactive Sales Manager to generate new business and manage existing relationships within the UK Government and Defence sectors. This role is crucial for promoting our product offerings and working alongside Business Development to secure future programmes that enhance the product and solutions portfolio.

Day-to-day tasks of the role:

  • Seek out, promote, market and sell products and services into new and existing accounts within the Government and Defence markets.
  • Handle new sales enquiries as distributed by the Group Sales Director.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels with nominated customers.
  • Liaise with and manage the process flow with the Technical Services Department to ensure excellent service provision.
  • Provide sales support to key customers, ensuring prompt follow-up of all sales and service requests to maximise loyalty and customer retention.
  • Provide quotations within company guidelines as agreed with the Group Sales Director.
  • Maintain a dynamic sales database with new leads and quotes.
  • Draft and maintain account plans for key customers and territories.
  • Produce sales budgets, forecasts, and reports as required.
  • Ensure contracts and purchase orders are issued and signed by the customer in a timely manner.
  • Participate in market initiatives within the Sales Team to maintain and increase customer awareness of company products and services and generate new leads.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of the company's products to effectively promote all offerings.
  • Participate in sales-related activities such as exhibitions and seminars.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in sales within the Government and Defence markets.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness of the marketplace and customer account activity.
  • High degree of computer literacy and ability to manage sales databases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel and participate in out-of-hours meetings as required.
