School Business manager

Are you an assertive School Bursar or Business Manager looking for a new challenge? Do you have SIMS and FMS experience? Are you available immediately? Our clients currently have requirements for experienced school finance and business staff within primary and secondary schools across Merseyside. The jobs can last for a

term or more, and both part-time and full-time candidates can be considered. Temporary School Administrators are expected to have a working knowledge of the School Information Management System (SIMS), and especially FMS (the finance module). Applicants MUST have previous experience of working in an educational establishment, as you will be expected to hit the ground running and deliver a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment.

We ask that you have:

  • Excellent administrative and ICT skills and the ability to multi-task
  • A qualifications in Business Administration or Financial Management would be an advantage but is not essential
  • SIMS / FMS experience gained from working in a school, voluntarily or paid
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • The ability to work with high levels of tact, confidentiality and discretion
  • A patient approach towards working with children and adults alike

  • Handling face to face and telephone enquiries from parents, external agencies and members of the general public on reception
  • Overseeing access to the building for visitors
  • Assisting teachers and senior leadership team with data entry on pupil records and reporting
  • Collecting money for dinners, school trips etc as required
  • Management of day to day finances involving ledger management, petty cash, bank reconciliations, sales invoicing and BACS payments
  • Photocopying, post, filing and general administrative support
