Warehouse Operative
Location: Chittering, Cambs
Salary: £26k
Hours: 40 hours a week Monday to Friday (on site)
Start Date: ASAP
Our client isin need of a diligent and hardworking Manufacturing and Warehouse Operative to join their team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of their warehouse, involving tasks such as loading and off-loading lorries, manufacturing, and filling.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Off-loading Lorries:
- Safely and efficiently load and off-load goods from lorries.
- Verify and check deliveries against documentation.
- Ensure that all goods are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Use appropriate equipment such as forklifts as required.
Manufacturing and Filling:
- Operate manufacturing machinery and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Assist in the production process, including filling products into containers.
- Ensure accurate and consistent filling of products.
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specified standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the manufacturing area.
General Warehouse Duties:
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all health and safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Package and label products for shipment.
- Support other warehouse tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) safely and efficiently.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift license is an advantage, but not essential.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
