Summary

We are looking for a Project Officer to join our team for a 2-year FTC.

This is a great chance to gain valuable experience in how the National Trust manages our land for people, nature, and climate.

If you are keen on expanding your project management skills and assisting others in achieving project success, this role in the Land & Nature Delivery Support Unit is perfect for you.

Working closely with a Delivery Manager, you will have the opportunity to handle various tasks and projects efficiently.

What it's like to work here

You'll be joining a small team who work collaboratively across the Land & Nature Directorate, enabling effective working to deliver our Land & Nature Strategy. You'll help us to provide a range of expertise, skills, and experience that anyone in the Directorate can access.

You should enjoy variety and meeting new people, as you'll be involved in many different aspects of our Land & Nature work.Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

Occasionally, you will need to travel nationally (with some overnight stays).

What you'll be doing

You'll be a welcome support to a wide range of teams including Nature & Science, Outdoors & Natural Resources and Land & Estates. You will need to liaise with people across the whole organisation to inform your work, and this can include people in outside organisations and partners.

Day to day you will be planning, coordinating and delivering packages of work in response to requests for your support. You will review the scope of the work requested, ensuring it can be delivered within a twelve week timescale or less, and prioritise tasks according to our L&N Strategy.

You'll responsible for driving your own workload, keeping up momentum and effectively communicating with all interested parties.

Whether it is helping someone to shape a concept or writing a client brief, carry out an options appraisal, form a business case, organise a project board, draft an activity or project plan, consult stakeholders or prepare a comms plan, you will be a key enabler within the Directorate.

? Previous experience in a project management setting.
? Good organisational and planning skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence to present.
? Good people and influencing skills, enabling relationships (both internally & externally) to be built and maintained.
? The ability to work as part of a team sharing learning and ideas, creating solutions together.
