We are looking for an Import Operator for our client based in Leeds. This role involves managing the full journey for the transportation of goods from the Far & Middle East to the UK via Sea.
This role requires someone with previous experience in imports, ideally from a logistics business. This is a fast paced role so we are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and great at building relationships.

Main duties to include;
- Manage a shipments for a wide range of customers, building relationships and ensuring repeat business
- Booking a pricing shipments from the Far and Middle East to the UK
- Build relationships with carriers and obtain the best prices
- Ensure all shipments have the correct documentation and customs entries
- Keep customers informed of any changes to delivery dates or issues
- Monitor shipments to ensure safe arrival
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure repeat business
We are looking for:
- Experience in an imports role, ideally for a broker or freight forwarder
- Experience in sea freight
- A problem solver, someone who keeps calm under pressure and finds solutions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong relationship building and customer service skills
