Stock Control Team Manager

About the role

We operate the UK's ONLY flexible multi-temp, shared customer delivery logistics network. We buy, warehouse, pick and distribute the entire stock that goes into our customer's stores across the UK, priding ourselves on quality of service.

We are currently recruiting for a Stock Control Team Manager to manage the stock control team and the accuracy of stock in all chambers at depot level.

The successful candidate will provide guidance and support to the stock control team, ensuring that objectives and the departments key tasks are efficiently met, workloads are well balanced, and the team are motivated and clear of individual and department objectives.

This role is also responsible for ensuring the effective control of client non-conforming products in line with Audit requirements and to work effectively and inclusively as part of the w/house management team, to encourage and strive for continuous improvement in client product availability, warehouse efficiency, reducing stock loss and encouraging colleague participation and inclusion at all levels.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure all product isolations and/or recalls (mock or otherwise) are carried out and documented as per BFL process and in line with relevant food safety legislation
  • To manage the PI cycle and counts from the PI Clerks, monitoring, investigating and reporting on stock issues to the w/house management team and supply chain/NAMs as appropriate
  • The timely investigation and correction of ledger/SAP/ Goods receipt queries
  • Investigate and report back to CAD on customer shortages, pick errors and credit requests
  • To ensure new lines (SKU) are given appropriate pick locations in a timely fashion for allocations and promotions
  • Review and continually look to improve pick layout for increased productivity and reduced damages
  • Arrange dead stock/charity collection and write off (Working to net zero food waste targets)
  • Ensure Administration of IBT documentation takes place within depot
  • To monitor and manage product shelf life and best before dates (stock rotation)
  • To ensure that extensive communication channels exist and are upheld between suppliers, managers, in-house colleagues and external depots
  • Ensure warehouse consumables are ordered and stocked to the correct levels in depot
  • To train and develop his/her team
  • Carry out appraisals and regular one to one's with team as appropriate
  • Monitor department absence carrying out Return to Work interviews
  • Ensure that the stock control team always comply with legal standards and company procedures, values and objectives

You will need

  • Analytical and numerical skills, ability to prioritise, reactive as well as proactive
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritise and work well as a team and under pressure.
  • Able to manage and develop the stock control team
  • Experience within a fast-moving w/house environment
  • Previous stock control and team management/supervision experience desirable
