About the school:

We are currently working on behalf of an outstanding and well respected SEN school, catering for pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs. The school itself are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and experienced teacher who is able to lead a small class, and work within the school curriculum to aid pupil progression, and maintain engagement of the each class.

The school is situated in a beautiful location in the Forest of Dean, allowing the teacher to utilise the outdoor facilities and be creative with how the lessons are delivered. In the class itself, there will be multiple SEN Teaching Assistants who will be aiding the teacher, deliver 1-1 interventions and additional support to the pupils who require it.

About the role:

The role requires the teacher to be a confident manager of a classroom setting, as well as being able to adapt proactivley where neccessary. You will also be asked to;

  • Organise and manage a classroom
  • Working 1-1 with pupils who require additional support
  • Creating a well structured and positive environment
  • Teaching students with SEND/SEMH in specialist classes or groups
  • Building relationships with the pupils, the parents and the faculty
  • Be a positive and proactive member of the staff
  • Monitor and track pupils progress
