Account Manager

Our niche, friendly client is looking for an Account Manager responsible for maximising inbound sales by successfully onboarding new customers and developing long-term relationships with existing clients. This role focuses on providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs through exceptional customer service.

The candidate will be responsible for managing customer inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction, with an emphasis on cross-selling and upselling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services during customer interactions.
  • Convert inbound inquiries into sales, ensuring customer needs are met effectively.
  • Onboard new customers and provide ongoing support to develop relationships.
  • Make outbound calls to existing customers to address any issues and explore potential sales opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries through phone, email, and web chat, aiming for first-time resolution.
  • Provide personalised solutions to meet customer needs and ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Handle after-sales support, addressing any queries or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage key accounts by maintaining regular contact, understanding their specific needs, and maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Track and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and accurate status updates.
  • Process customer orders efficiently from start to finish, ensuring accuracy.
  • Collaborate with transport teams to ensure smooth deliveries and handle any after-sales concerns.
  • Ensure timely payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
  • Handle customer complaints effectively, aiming for swift and satisfactory resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to address any product or logistics issues.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring no duplicate entries and data integrity.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on sales activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the core product range and stay updated on new products.
  • Participate in sales training sessions and support the training of new team members.
  • Work closely with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Follow departmental processes and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Work towards achieving department KPIs, ensuring profitability and adherence to service level guidelines.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Experience in working with transport and logistics partners.
  • Familiarity with order management and CRM systems.
  • Previous experience in sales or customer service, preferably with a focus on upselling/cross-selling.
  • Experience with CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and results-driven with a customer-first mentality.
  • Polite and friendly, with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Team player with a proactive approach to building customer relationships.
