Position: Head of Finance
Location: Bedfordshire
Reporting to: Managing Director
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Job Purpose:
Responsible for overseeing all financial activities of Steel Build Ltd. This includes managing financial systems, ensuring compliance, producing accurate financial reports, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee postings and reconciliations of sales/purchase ledgers.
  • Manage grants and sub-grants, ensuring compliance.
  • Assist in credit control and follow-up on unpaid invoices.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, including petty cash.
  • Support the Managing Director in managing financial risks and ensuring compliance with financial controls and statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on costings and correct coding of expenditure.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports and explain performance.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
  • Liaise with auditors and manage the annual audit process.
  • Communicate with external professionals and service providers for accurate financial transactions.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAGE.
  • Experience with staff time recording systems.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively.
