Financial Accountant

Apointe is excited to assist our clients in finding a skilled and dedicated Financial Accountant! If you have a robust background in practice, statutory reporting, audit, and compliance, coupled with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, this role could be the ideal fit for you.

With a mix of both management accounting and technical accounting, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified Financial Accountant, to be able to work effectively across multiple European sales entities owning general ledger transactions through to the monthly and annual reporting to key stakeholders and audit.

We are looking for a bright and capable individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment and is confident with high-volume data processing and analysis.

Salary - £50 - 55k

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for month-end close and reporting for various EU entities, including:
  • Coordinating with the bookkeepers from each region
  • Balance Sheet and Transfer Pricing reconciliations
  • Maintenance and posting of accruals and prepayment schedules
  • Calculation and posting of IFRS 9 and 16 journals
  • Intercompany clear downs and reconciliations
  • Reconciliation and posting of revaluations
  • Review of indirect and direct tax ledger codes
  • Results analysis and upload into Consolidation software
  • Preparation of monthly reporting pack and presentation to key stakeholders
  • Weekly Cash flow forecast for XP Power EU region
  • Preparation and submission of two VAT returns for UK-registered entities
  • Supporting local statutory audits and deliverables preparation for UK tax return
  • Support the European Accounting Manager in any ad-hoc requests and project work

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting.
  • Proven experience in a similar interim or contract role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP.
  • Experience using advanced Excel features for financial analysis and reporting tasks
  • Strong understanding of and ability to implement key control procedures
  • Effective time management and strong organisation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with conflicting priorities
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility
  • Desirable skills: Experience using SAP/S4HANA
