Programme Manager
- Rate: £550 - £650 per day inside IR35 umbrella
- Location: Cardiff or London
- Job Type: Contract, 6 months
- Hybrid: 2 days per week in office
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Interview Process: 2 stage video interviews
Our client is currently recruiting for a Programme Manager to lead a large-scale Analytics Ingestion Programme. The ideal candidate will have experience working on multi-departmental projects within complex organisations and a strong background in analytics platform programmes. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills who can influence strategy and deliver change programmes that align with strategic outcomes.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Define the programme vision, scope, expected outcomes, success criteria, and benefits realisation with stakeholders.
- Lead the programme team and champion the vision.
- Work with the sponsor to deliver a benefits-led approach, including benefits-mapping, measurement, and tracking.
- Establish the programme organisation, team structure, and governance approach.
- Lead the programme through the investment case approval process, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
- Create and maintain a detailed programme plan, ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams.
- Manage all elements of change, including business and people impact, and embed lasting change.
- Produce high-quality management information, including forecasts and risk management frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Recognised programme management qualification (e.g., Management of Successful Programmes).
- Substantial experience in project and programme management.
- Experience managing at least two large-scale programmes.
- In-depth knowledge of programme management principles and concepts.
- Sound financial knowledge, including cost versus benefit analysis and forecasting.
- Ability to handle complexity, ambiguity, and changing business focus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain relationships with internal and external contacts.
Desirable:
- Recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner or APMP/PQ level).
- Experience managing projects with a budget of more than £20m and 20+ staff.
- Appreciation of changing technology and working practices in the media industry.
