Digital Marketing Assistant

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Digital Marketing Assistant to be a part of one of the UK's fastest growing vaping and CBD retailers in the UK and join our dynamic eCommerce team.

This role is remote (occasional face-to-face at a convenient location once per month) paying £30K - £35K per annum. The ideal candidate will have experience in CRM, or good understanding of CRM and possibly previous use of Klaviyo.

The job
The Digital Marketing Assistant role is based remotely with the need to travel to one of our UK stores on occasion and will support the eCommerce team by working closely with the wider business to drive the online and in-store sales growth of the group through digital marketing, website activity and social media.
The Digital Marketing Assistant role includes promoting and supporting the group online through social media & email marketing channels whilst growing and engaging with the online community to promote the group's brands and grow their audiences.
The successful applicant must also be available to support the customer service team as needed through our online contact centre.

Specific Digital Marketing Assistant responsibilities include:
Social Media

  • Includes content creation, video and live content.
  • Growing the group's social audience through organic acquisition methods.
  • Scheduling content and proactively creating content relevant to current social trends.
  • Deliver and help develop the company's personality and tone of voice across all communications.
  • Be available from time to time to attend strategy and or general business and team meetings as required.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current digital trends and suggesting new ideas to enhance the digital strategy of the business.
  • Administrative or other production or general marketing support to assist with the efficient running of the department, as and when required.
  • Deliver all aspects of Ecommerce activity in support of the retail stores including new store set up & communication, local promotions and events.
  • Monthly KPI reporting.
  • Support the ecommerce customer service team in managing the contact centre and store fulfilment where needed to cover holidays and absence.

Product loading / web merchandising

  • Product loading across two brand's websites, including image sourcing and copywriting.

Digital Marketing

  • Creation & management of email marketing campaigns - company wide and for local stores as required.
  • Working to the promotional content plan, to ensure we deliver well translated customer interaction, contact and raise the visibility of the group across all digital marketing & social media channels to reflects the tactical business trading plans by week and month.
  • Planning & delivery of monthly promotional campaigns and brand launch activities
  • Full management of Google Business Manager supported by the Ecommerce Manager.
  • Responding & reporting Google reviews to the relevant colleagues when required.
  • Set up and ongoing management of directories including retail & vaping specific.
  • Content producing including online banners, social posts and copywriting as needed.
  • Ad hoc website support as required, including website housekeeping, assistant with promotional changes and more.

Customer service support

  • Managing customer service tasks and enquiries by phone, email and live chat when required
  • To resolve customer queries and recommend outcomes using their judgement within established guidelines.
  • To refer any escalated/unresolved matters to the Customer Service team for advice and/or direction for resolution

The person
To succeed in this role, you will have the following skills and qualities:
Essential

  • Experience managing social media channels for business including Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Be competent delivering content plans for retail brands across multiple channels with a solid experience of social media channels.
  • Experience using Adobe CC software such as Photoshop, After Effects or similar, to aid with content creation.
  • You must possess digital marketing experience preferably within Ecommerce or retail with an excellent understanding of how to deliver thoroughly engaging posts and copy.
  • Strong understanding of how to effectively optimise digital marketing channels & tools including email marketing and social media.
  • PC literate with Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel) essential. Experience of website management tools (CMS - Content Management Systems) and applications - Google Drive, DropBox, MailChimp, Google Analytics, Survey Monkey, Skype, EPOS being an advantage
  • Highly literate, and highly articulate in written and verbal communications with a good creative eye. You must be able turn jargon and technical functions into clearly understandable benefits - in simple, elegant and customer friendly terms
  • Strong creative eye for creating social content and email marketing
  • A thorough approach and excellent eye for detail in every task undertaken
  • Ability to prioritise workload and to work with minimal supervision and largely autonomously. You must be a first class project manager, with the ability to prioritise, juggle several work streams at once and work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Passionate about working with people and take pride in providing the highest service levels. Able to remain positive, calm and focused when under pressure from customers.
  • Good, professional, caring telephone manner
  • You will need to be extremely well organised, a confident communicator and a good organiser of colleagues and external agencies if required.

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering content plans for retail brands across multiple channels with solid experience of social media channels.
  • Experience in a similar role for a FMCG retailer.
  • Experience of the vaping and/or CBD industries and a passionate and enthusiastic advocate of vaping.
  • Customer service orientated.
  • Understanding of the online advertising restrictions (TRPR regulations).
