Chichester College Group is seeking to appoint 4 Exam Invigilators at our Brighton campus to join our team, setting up and invigilating examinations, in line with exam board regulations. Examinations take place throughout the academic year and can be online or paper-based. In return,

As our Exam Invigilator, you will have knowledge of Microsoft Office, proven communication and interpersonal skills and administrative skills.

There are no guaranteed minimum hours of work for this post.

Key responsibilities:

  • The set up and the smooth running of the examination in accordance with both internal college procedures and awarding body regulations.
  • To set up and invigilate on-line tests in accordance with relevant awarding body guidelines.
  • Carry out ID checks and removal of mobile phones in line with College procedures.
  • Relay instructions to a group of candidates in a confident, authoritative, yet approachable manner.
  • Assist with invigilation for special arrangement candidates and provide them with support as required.
  • When dealing with paper-based exams – ensure the awarding body regulations are strictly adhered to, especially when collating both the papers and scripts at the end of the exam and returning them to the exams' office for dispatch.
  • Comply with college-wide policies including our Health and Safety policy, Equal Opportunities policy, Data Protection policy and Safeguarding policy and practices.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Previous experience of invigilation
  • A working knowledge of office-based IT applications, including Microsoft Office, to enable you to run online exams
  • Educated to Level 2 standard with GCSE grade 4 / C in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills together with the confidence and maturity to relate to the diverse mix of learners at the college
  • Confident ability to learn to use new IT applications / online exam portals, with training provided
  • Proven administrative skills
  • Commitment to the delivery of a high-quality service to students
  • Satisfactorily meeting the Group's employment checks – a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (including any relevant overseas checks), health assessment, references, qualifications and legal entitlement to work in the UK.
