Senior Safety Engineer

Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a Senior Safety Engineer for their Submarine Support Engineering teams.

For this role they can consider candidates from any industry sector who are Technical Safety Engineering professionals. This could be from Civil Nuclear, Rail, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Defence etc.

Salary:

up to £60k

Location: The role will be 1-2 days a week in the local regional office (

Warrington, Bristol or Plymouth

). There may also be 1-2 days a month visiting project offices in Bristol for meetings when required.

Duration:

Full time / Permanent

Requirements: Eligible for SC Clearance

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading on safety management.
  • Working embedded within a client site.
  • Production and technical assurance of safety documentation of high technical complexity.
  • Mentoring and technical development of safety engineers.

Essential experience of the Senior Safety Engineer

  • Category A1 / A2 / B operating experience.
  • In-depth understanding of submarine systems / engineering principles.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • CEng accredited with the Engineering Council or IEng and actively progressing application towards Chartership.
  • Broad understanding of safety and environmental management principles.
  • Safety and Environmental Management Training (SEMT) or similar.
  • Project management experience and familiarity with the delivery of technical outputs within a contractual framework.
