Description
- Develop and maintain models of the Institute's current and future architecture solutions as part of the organisation's enterprise architecture repository.
- Ensure that solution architecture is designed in conjunction with business needs in mind and that solutions are sustainable.
- Develop and champion solution architectural principles and templates to deliver cost effective and sustainable Technology enabled business processes within the Institute.
- Lead in designing, specifying, and selecting Technology solutions. Considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure, and performance.
- Liaise with stakeholder both internal and external to the Institute to understand the strategy of the overall organisation and Technology.
- Ensure that technical solution definitions include appropriate technical and solution assurance mechanisms including relevant functional and non-functional requirements and validation mechanisms.
- Work with projects, feature, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance to solution architectural design and ensure that project scope is maintained.
- Lead the organisation in exploiting technology and use knowledge of technology solutions to support the development of high impact business capability with user accessibility as the default.
- Understand and provide architectural guidance to project teams developing solutions that can be easily maintained in the future.
- Review proposals from vendors and suppliers for any project that requires external input to ensure architectural assurance. Input to cost estimation and assist in preparing business cases for IT solutions.
Profile
- Significant practical and demonstratable experience working at a senior level as a solution, technical or systems architect in a charity or equivalent complex organisation.
- A good exposure of a broad range of solution designs from data, software, integration, security, and infrastructure technologies, including a working knowledge of some.
- The ability to collaborate with, influence and work with both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers, including senior leadership, to assure the design and delivery of solutions.
- Must have worked within the Public Sector in a similar role.
