Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contractors Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage budgets effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Manage project costs from budgets, and estimates through to project completion.
  • Tendering Process: Oversee the tendering process, including preparation of tender documents, analysis of contractor bids, and recommendations for awarding contracts.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts, including preparation of contract documents, evaluation of contractor claims, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
  • Valuations: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, prepare valuations, and issue payment certificates to contractors.
  • Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and manage project risks, ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to mitigate potential issues.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, forecasts, and statements to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving disputes and claims related to contracts and payments.
  • Cost Control: Implement and monitor cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.

  • Professional Membership: Membership with a relevant professional body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is highly desirable, but not essential

  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Sound knowledge of construction contracts, law, and regulations

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and high level of accurate

  • Personal Attributes:
