Our Client, Shropshire County Council, is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join their SGO Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • You will work as part of the SGO project to progress childrens plans of permanence to Special Guardianship Orders in the coming months. You will be required to work with Foster Carers / Connected Person Foster Carers to complete the SGO assessments.
  • You will be required to ensure compliance with regulations and the views of all parties are sought. Assessments will be progressed timely in line with the remits of the project.
  • Requirements:
  • To work with case managers to complete SGO assessments of Foster Carers. Engaging with carers to complete Form C.
  • Development of support plans for children who are progressing plan of permanency via SGO; including actions required to meet presenting and future support needs.
  • Ensure reports are compliant with SGO regulations and policies.
  • To provide connected carers / foster carers advice and support through the SGO assessment.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have minimum of 2 years' post qualified experience.
  • Experience of completing Special Guardianship Assessments is required.
