Finance & Admin Assistant

The Burford Recruitment Company is working on behalf of a well-established firm seeking an experienced and capable Part-Time Finance & Admin Assistant to join their team in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

In this flexible and varied role, you will work closely with the Business and Finance Manager to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records and provide administrative support. This role requires a hands-on, self-motivated individual with a strong eye for detail and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

General Bookkeeping:

  • Manage daily cashbook, petty cash, and Barclaycard transactions.
  • Handles sales and purchase ledgers, including invoice processing and debtor reporting.
  • Oversee customer and supplier accounts, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, and manage subscriptions.
  • Process payroll using the Earnie and Key2Pay systems, handling HMRC submissions, pensions, and year-end tasks.
  • Maintain up-to-date training, compliance, and policy knowledge.
  • Utilize Excel for various financial tasks, including pivot tables.

Client Bookkeeping:

  • Manage client weekly wages and lettings processes, including CMS deposit handling and landlord payments.
  • Conduct HMRC lettings returns and client bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee rural and residential management client accounts, handling rent receipts, payments, and financial statements.
  • Run rent demand processes and tenant debtor reporting using Key Prime Property.
  • Support the financial management of five farm clients, including cashbook management, payroll, VAT returns, and financial reporting.

Administrative Support:

  • Organize office filing and handle incoming posts.
  • Manage employees and viewing staff timesheets and expenses.
  • Purchase office supplies and manage the Amazon account.
  • Support the Business and Finance Manager with various administrative tasks and attend meetings as needed.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Key2Pay and Earnie payroll systems is a plus.
