Community Mental Health Nurse

One of our leading NHS clients is looking for experienced mental health nurses to cover shifts in the community hospitals in South West England. We are seeking applications from Registered Mental Health Nurses who have experience working in community services.

Description:

Applicants should have an interest in working with individuals who have severe and enduring mental health problems and are difficult to engage. The specific purpose is to deliver care in a collaborative manner that reflects the principles of AOT working, particularly aspects relating to recovery and social inclusion.

The post holder will be a senior member of the team, working with service users across the Strategic Service Units who have common and severe mental health issues. The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide assessment and implementation of evidence-based interventions for service users who are experiencing common, acute mental health and longer-term recovery needs.
  • Optimise the service users' ability to remain in the community and/or be cared for in the least restrictive environment in line with the principles of recovery and social inclusion and the 10 essential capabilities.
  • Support clinical governance initiatives at ward/hospital level, e.g., Essence of Care Clinical Audit.

Requirements:

  • Experience in mental health
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Experience in community mental health
  • Experience in recovery interventions
  • Understanding of severe mental illness (SMI)
  • Understanding of recovery
  • Full driving licence and use of own car
