In this varied role, you will be part of the team working on finance projects, including a comprehensive review of our funding mechanism and system changes. You will be responsible for supporting, challenging, analysing and communicating financial data from a range of sources.

Key Responsibilities

Within this role, you will be responsible for:

- Working closely alongside the members of the Revenue Team within Finance, to produce monthly financial performance reports to tight deadlines, as specified within the month end timetable.
- Providing financial support to the Commission's licence fee review workstream, ensuring that accurate financial forecasts support proposed licence fee changes.
- Undertaking horizon scanning work to monitor trends, themes and policy developments that will inform income forecasts and fee development.
- Using analytical and modelling skills to review financial data in order to present insights and provide steer to relevant stakeholders (internal and external), as required.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders (including the teams within the Gambling Commission) and external stakeholders (including our sponsor body DCMS and other key external contacts).
- Financial support to the development and implementation of the Statutory Levy.

Person Specification

Essential:

- Experience of undertaking and communicating analysis, interpreting financial data and providing valuable insights that inform risk-based decisions and challenge assumptions.
- Experience in interpreting data and providing intelligence to support the formulation of both short-term and long-term strategic plans.
- Experience of developing and optimising effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Significant experience of building, maintaining and interpreting complex financial models (Excel).

Desirable:

- Experience in a regulated sector, working with a regulator or regulated company, and of regulatory best practice.
- Experience in the public sector or of working with central government.
- Experience of building and interpreting reports using Power Bi or equivalent.
