Quality and NPD Manager - Consumer Goods

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will oversee various aspects of NPI, Quality, and Cost Management for products both before and after launch. Description

New Product Introduction

  • Collaborate with Product teams in the development and launch of new products.
  • Assist in the introduction and/or transfer of new equipment within manufacturing partner facilities.
  • Establish and implement QA and QC requirements ahead of product launch.
  • Qualify materials and processes to authorize mass production (MP).
  • Ensure processes are optimized for high-volume manufacturing before mass production begins.
  • Oversee the integration of new materials and processes into existing production lines.

Supplier Quality

  • Conduct and lead supplier audits.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Partner with suppliers to enhance and refine their quality systems and business processes.

Product Quality

  • Track and report on product performance in the field.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve quality and reliability issues.
  • Report on agreed-upon quality and production metrics.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for B2B partners regarding any technical queries or issues.

Business Management Systems

  • Operate within the established process framework.
  • Review and improve existing Quality Management System (QMS) processes.

Cost Management

  • Track and report anticipated product costs during the NPI phase.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities within current product lines.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to source alternative materials and suppliers.
  • Calculate the impact of cost reductions on products.
  • Oversee and manage cost reduction programs.

Profile

We are looking for a proactive, passionate, and self-driven individual who is ready to dive in and work independently when needed. As the subject matter expert in your field, you should know what excellence looks like and have the capability to implement it effectively. Given the fast-paced nature of the start-up environment, you'll need to be adaptable and adept at managing shifting priorities to thrive in this role.

  • A relevant degree, apprenticeship, or work experience is essential.
  • Broad technical experience in new product introduction and quality disciplines is required.
  • Lead auditor certification (ISO 9001) is preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume converting lines for low-value products is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with films nonwovens, and converting processes and equipment is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in cost management is desirable.
  • Experience in the FMCG sector is also desirable.
