About Us

Housing for Women is a registered charity and independent housing association. We champion female empowerment by providing and promoting affordable homes for women and gender-specific support services. Since 1934, we have been working to build a more equal society for women, a world where everyone has a safe roof over their head regardless of circumstance, where violence against women is no longer tolerated.

We are currently seeking a Fundraising Officer to join us on a permanent, part-time basis, working 21 hours per week.

The Role

As a Fundraising Officer, you will undertake a range of fundraising activity to support income for our charity.

Helping to implement and deliver our fundraising strategy, you will manage a pipeline of grant funders and deliver the highest standards of stewardship. You will build strong relationships to ensure long-term growth and diversify income streams.

You'll actively seek out further prospect opportunities, producing funding applications and writing tailored bids to support our funding priorities and core needs, as well as supporting the creation of engaging content for newsletters and campaigns.

Additionally, you will:

  • Develop supporter journeys for our small group of individual donors
  • Assist with fundraising events
  • Support new initiatives, including legacies and regular giving
  • Update and maintain CRM records

About You

To be considered as a Fundraising Officer, you will need:

  • Experience in a fundraising role
  • Evidence of significant fundraising from a variety of sources
  • Expertise and experience of the application process for grants
  • Experience of building relationships with and stewarding key funders
  • Knowledge of the voluntary sector, including funding issues and opportunities
  • Knowledge of grant giving bodies
  • Experience and understanding of managing volunteers
  • Good standard of education to at least A-Level standard
